The Lecture Hall & Synagogue“Grant a perfect healing to all our wounds” (from daily Amidah prayer)

No medical center in the Holy Land can be regarded as complete without its spiritual focus. The Synagogue will be available to everyone and will be open around the clock for prayer and meditation, as well as for the scheduled services of worship and prayer. As is well known and documented, prayer and meditation bestow comfort and renew strength in times of sickness and stress. Both those undergoing and those implementing medical procedures experience varying degrees of trauma and anxiety. The Synagogue will offer calm retreat to assuage the anxiety and doubt of patients and their families.
Two Sifrei Torah (Torah scrolls), one Sephardi and one Ashkenazi, will wait in the ornate Aron Hakodesh for public readings. Prayer books and an adequate study library will be available for all.
After the hospital maternity ward begins functioning, the Synagogue will serve as a convenient location for those parents wishing to name their newly born children.
The Synagogue area will be built in modular fashion. In addition to providing an aesthetic and comfortable setting for prayers, with slight modification the space can also be used as conference room or lecture hall. Video conferencing capabilities will enable staff to communicate with medical experts around the world for consultation or colloquia.
